Summer Photos

A Tilted Morning
I took this photo when i was in quebcec. it is an outer view of the old city. i like how it incorporates the water and boats in addition to the city.

Waterfall View

When we were walking to a waterfall we quickely walked past this view. it wasnt until after when we were walking back that i noticed how pretty it is. i like how the green of the leaves breaks up the monochromatic colors of the water and sky.

a secret silhouette
everyone was taking photos of each other an i actually changed the light so the bodies created a silhouette against the light blue sky. i thought the contrast was unusual and interesting.

Bowling Queens
one of the nights in quebec we went bowling. i thought this photo would end up basic, but i actually really like the contrast of the one girl whos shirt turned bright, and the other who stays dark. the lights in the background add to the mystery of the foreground. i was pleasantly surprised.

An Under Light

i thought this would also end up basic but i thought the distance looked cool here because of how the shadows.

Great Waterfall of China

when we were on one of the water fall look out perches, i looked across at the other mountainish hill and saw this odd bridge sort of thing. it contains many spots for the people to stop and stare at the waterfall. i thought it was cool though because it reminded me of the great wall of china.

Down the Bridge

when we were walking from one water fall to the other i took this photo of the girls in front of me moving. i like how the leading lines creates distance.

Washing Waves

the top layer of the huge waterfall was beautiful. and when you capture only this it looks almost like a small stream. but if you were to see the whole thing you would be frightened by the 275 foot drop.

A Foggy Reflection

i thought the reflection of the fog and the fog in the air was super pretty and added to what would have been a very normal waterscape.

Light Under the Storm

under the huge rushing waterfall was a small dainty rainbow.

Blurry Focus

everything in this photo is moving and in blur expect for the person in the reflection in the sunglasses.

Contrasting Syrup

the yellow iced syrup added a nice contrast to the green trees, it was very  cultural and pretty.

My View

i took this photo on my film camera at camp. these are my feet propped up on the side of my bunk bed looking at all the girls and their beds. its what i saw every night when i went to sleep and woke up.

Cooled Syrup

this was one of my favorite photos but somehow it got this weird stain on it. its a man pouring hot maple syrup onto ice which allows it to cool and it becomes candy.

Old Quebec

old quebec is essentially on a hill and when i was at the top i got this photo of a think artistry street.

My Favorite Place

this is a picture of my favorite place to sit at camp. the green adirondack chairs.

The boaters view

this is a land and water and city scape all in one. i took this while looking towards quenbec city.

Focused Reflections

this is another one of my favotite photos. i love how the reflection of the boat in the water is moving with the wave. yet how the sticker in the water is the one that is easiest to read.

The Glass Alleyway

this is yet another one of my favorites. i snapped this photo of a staircase that had stunning glass sculptings on the top. i like how it is somewhat tilted. and it just so happened that that man walked passed when i took the photo. it worked out perfectly even though it was an accident.

1. since taking photography last year i think i have actually developed some what of a style. now when i walk past things i can see them as photos but i know how to make them more interesting by chnaging the angle or maybe even aperature of the camera. i can now look at a photo and make it better instead of capturing it exactly as it is. ive learned that you can change the way something is perceived with a camera.

2. i like taking photos (specifically film) of small places or things you would not notice with your bare eye unless you are paying full attention. i like showing people the unknown little things they don't notice at first glance.

3. the qualities of  a good photo are just giving people the opportnity to see things the way you see it. in addition to the angles and lines and obvious subject.

4. i want to play around with a alot of film, trying overlap and different edits. i personally put more time and thought into my film photos and they are more important to me so i want to be able to what i would call "manual photoshop."
